Getting started
Is Lekkalu really 100% free?+
Yes! All core features are completely free forever. You can track unlimited transactions, accounts, investments, and goals. No credit card required, no hidden fees, no paywalled basics. Optional Pro features are coming soon, but the core app remains free.
Is there an Android or iOS app?+
Lekkalu is a PWA, so you install it straight from your browser. On Android, open lekkalu.app in Chrome and tap Install. On iPhone, use Share then Add to Home Screen. You get a home screen icon, full screen, and offline access, just like a native app. There is no Play Store or App Store version as of now. One codebase means every device gets the same features on the same day.
Does Lekkalu work without an internet connection?+
Yes! Lekkalu is offline-first. All your data is stored locally on your device using encrypted IndexedDB. You can track transactions, view reports, and manage your finances completely offline. Internet is only needed for features like stock price updates and latest currency conversions.
Privacy & security
How is my financial data protected?+
Lekkalu uses zero-knowledge encryption with AES-256-CBC. Your financial data is encrypted before it's stored locally on your device. We cannot see your data - it never leaves your device unencrypted. All encryption happens client-side using PBKDF2 key derivation with 10,000 iterations.
Can Lekkalu see or sell my financial data?+
No, never. We cannot see your financial data because it's encrypted before storage and never sent to our servers. Zero-knowledge architecture means we don't have the keys to decrypt your data. We don't sell data or show ads
How do I backup my data?+
You can download an encrypted backup of your complete financial data anytime and restore it on any device. You can also export everything to one Excel file for use in any spreadsheet. You have full control over your data with no lock-in.
Using Lekkalu
What currencies does Lekkalu support?+
Lekkalu supports 100+ currencies with automatic conversion. You can track accounts in multiple currencies and see your total net worth in your preferred currency. Perfect for expats, travelers, and global investors.
How does budget tracking work in Lekkalu?+
Lekkalu's budget feature lets you set monthly spending limits by category. As you add transactions, your budget updates in real-time with visual progress bars and a donut chart showing where your money goes. Budgets automatically roll over each month with your same categories and limits.

When does Pro launch?+
Pro is in development. We're making the free core rock-solid first, then adding power-user extras. Follow along for updates.
Does paying change my privacy?+
No. All data stays encrypted on your device. Pro only unlocks new features, they never change the privacy model.
Donations
Do I get anything in return?+
Donations purely support the project. Optional Pro features are in the works for the future, but your donation simply helps keep the free tier strong.
Is my payment secure?+
Completely. Payments are processed by Stripe, one of the world's most trusted processors. We never see or store your payment details.
Can I donate from outside the US?+
Yes. Stripe supports payments from most countries, and your bank handles currency conversion automatically.
What if I can't afford to donate?+
That's completely okay. Lekkalu is free for everyone, regardless. You can still help by spreading the word, leaving a review, or sharing feedback.
